Here are some images of the newly opened Linton and Kay Perth gallery. The gallery situated in the old Perth Technical School has been gone through major renovations that has blended new modern elements with the existing old building features. The Gallery will feature works from local, national and international artists in the various exhibition spaces. Images were shot in daylight, large studio lighting was used to lift up light levels in certain parts of the scene with careful consideration as to not compromise on the original look and lighting design of gallery.

I have just completed photography of a new 37m catamaran by Incat Crowther and Waterline Yacht Design. Photography took place just out of Fremantle in Western Australia over two days. Day one comprising of all the onboard photography followed by a early mourning aerial shoot of the yacht cruising off leighton Beach. Photography was made difficult due to all power onboard being 110V as it was to be based in America our 240V lights required some modifications to work.
Here are a few images from the shoot.

We have just completed a photographic shoot of the range of jets used by charter company Revesco Air. The photography featured a Bombardier Challenger VH-ZSU, Cessna Citation and a Cessna Mustang.
Lighting was used for the daylight externals to make the jets pop against the sky, evening images were also shot to give a dynamic look. Here is a few images from the shoot.

We have recently been commissioned to photograph the new Stefan Jewellers Perth Store. The showroom is spread out over two floors with various lighting sources and colour temperatures. Some time was spent correcting colour temperature in post and levelling out the huge contrast range from the bright display cabinets.

The new Toni & Guy Salon has opened in Subiaco just a couple of streets from our Studio. This was a nice close location for the shoot. Designed by Mata Design Studio the two level 150 sqm interior was shot over twilight with special attention given to controlling the bright lights and dark interiors. The externals were shot with car trails running across the frame adding some additional foreground interest.

I recently shot the product range for Cocoon Fires . The cool looking architectural freestanding fireplaces run on biofuel alone. The Full day shoot was shot on location in Northbridge with all props brought in by the stylist. Lighting was set to balance the light from the flames. Many images were shot for each setup to get the flames looking its best. Care had to be taken when shooting into the mirrored marine grade stainless steel to avoid any unwanted reflections.

We had a spare hour in the Studio this week so we thought up this short film. Shot and edited by Nik Douglas within 24 hours. Unfortunately I am killed off in my debut role.

Venn has recently opened in Queen St Perth. The converted old flour mill in now a funky three level bar / cafe, retail shop, art gallery and artist studios. Designed by Matthews Architecture Venn has become an instant perth hotspot. Our shoot began 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon and by 6.30 the bar was at capacity. Only available lighting was used on the photographic shoot as it was not possible to run lights and power cords with so many people.
Here are a few architectural photographs from the shoot.

I recently shot the newly completed luxury apartments by Mirvac located on Leighton Beach.
The shoot ran over 3 days, every room/angle was shot in either early mourning late afternoon and or in evening light depending on its orientation and how the natural light filled the shot. Plenty of artifical light was also braught in to to create the desired look.
Here is some images from the shoot. More images can be viewed http://beachsideleighton.com.au/index.html

88 Noodle Bar on the casino gaming floor at Burswood Entertainment Complex is now open. With the Interior design by Mata Design Studio, we recently shot the interiors first up in the mourning to avoid the crowds. The biggest challenge apart from colour balance was keeping details in both highlights and shadows. This was solved making 3 exposures and blending images in photoshop.

Just let me know if anyone would like to rent out my current photographic studio in East Perth.
2010 Peet Telethon Home built by In-Vogue has just sold for a record $865000.00 for Princess Margaret Children's Hospital. I photographed the display home in Shorehaven a few weeks ago. At this early stage it was the only completed home in the estate with power coming from an external generator that I tripped out several times due the the high voltage of my lights. Here are some images from the home.
After two years my portfolio website has finally had an update.
I have added a few extra Portfolio categories such as Display Home External Photography, Display Home Internal Photography.

This is a recent shoot at The Islands apartments in South Beach. Built by Pindan Construction for Stockland it has recently won the 2010 MBA Award for best Multi-Unit Development over $30 million. With the apartments facing directly west I shot the internals with the sun flooding into the apartments balancing the light with Profoto flash heads giving me detail in the highlighs and shadows. Please see some images below shot with Nikon D3x.
Sunseekers new performance motoryacht Predator arrived in Perth and a few days later we photographed the boat for Ocean magazine. The shoot started late in the day to take advantage of the low afternoon sun. The running shots were taken from a second boat just out of Fremantle followed by the onboard photographs that started only minutes before the sun hit the horizon and ran into the evening.
We recently shot two days of room sets in a makeshift studio at the Brooker Furniture factory. Brooker Furniture have been producing fine hardwood furniture for over 27 years.
The shot list included beds, dining tables, coffee tables and wall units. A shooting platform was set up consisting of two temporary walls and a timber floor. Various pictures, curtains, floor mats and props where used in each of the image to get a variety of looks on the same set.
The pictures below show the set and the final image. Lights were used through makeshift windows (plywood clamped to light stands) to give an early mourning look to the set.
